The vulture eye
Can the odd butler be trusted? The mysterious man of death and psychoticness shall be studied and described in this said paragraph. This mans mental health can be questioned, is he mad, or just a troubled man? We instantly get to question this on the very first sentence; for example, "True! - nervous - very, very dreadfully nervous I had been and am; but why will you say that I am mad?" Claiming that he has "acute" hearing the man (whose name is unknown) says he can hear things in heaven, earth, and hell. Us readers are already questioning this man and his health. Crazy, or a genius, or even both? Constantly telling us "I'm not mad" makes us think he is or is he just persistent. This manis troubled by his bosses eye. "I made up my mind to take the old mans life." His approach to this murder is very interesting. Taking hours to just trouble the old man terrifying him by night and being kind to him by day. Days and weeks to kill the man and then what? He doesn't leave a trace of the body. He butchers it and puts in underneath the floor boards. Smart right? His health is questioned more when he drives himself to confessing to the cops. "It is the beating of his hideous heart!" So, is he a psychotic killer, or a genius? That is for you to decide.
